Spruce Up Your Water!
We all know one of the main things in a clean diet is drinking buckets of water. We also all know that this can get very boring! Especially during summer, I like to play around with my water and add fresh and frozen fruit to my glasses to sweeten it up and give a little flavor. Also, I make green tea a huge part of my beverage intake because, guess what?! Green tea is a freebie in the clean eating diet and counts as water! (This of course, is only if it is unsweetened and all natural Green Tea ♥).
Below are my favorite summer ‘water’ drinks – enjoy!
Water + Frozen Citrus
Freeze a bowl of peeled tangerines and sliced lemon & lime. Add a few pieces into each water glass in lieu of ice cubes.
Water + Fresh Strawberries and Blueberries
Slice fresh strawberries and drop into chilled water with blueberries. Mash a few at bottom of glass for enhanced flavor.
Water + Chia Seeds, Cucumber and Mint
Add a pinch of chia seeds to a glass of water and let sit in the fridge for approx. 20 minutes to soften seeds. Add sliced cucumber and grounded/chopped mint and enjoy.
Iced Green Tea + Frozen Mango and Kiwi
Freeze a bowl of sliced mango and kiwi. Brew green tea in pot on stove then place into fridge to chill. Once cold, drop a few pieces of the frozen fruit in each glass in lieu of ice cubes.
Iced Green Tea + Ginger and Lemon
Brew green tea on stove. Once brewed, add grated ginger and lemon zest to pot and let seep for one hour. Keep in fridge to enjoy over ice anytime. Add fresh or frozen sliced lemon to glass.
